Luca Campigotto. Wandering Europe

Date: Wednesday, 30 September 2026
Time: 7 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Format: talk
Speakers: Luca Campigotto, Walter Guadagnini and Roberto Koch

On the occasion of the opening of the Luca Campigotto exhibition, the artist will engage in conversation with Walter Guadagnini, curator of the exhibition, and Roberto Koch, creator and curator of the “La Grande Fotografia Italiana” project, to discuss the origins and development of the project commissioned by Intesa Sanpaolo – Gallerie d'Italia.

A discussion about a journey through a physical, political and emotional Europe, among landscapes, memories and the contradictions of the present, to explore the photographic choices and inspirations that guided Campigotto in constructing this narrative. An opportunity to view the photographs in the exhibition through the artist’s eyes, exploring the multiplicity of places, identities and stories that make up the face of contemporary Europe.

Afterwards, there will be a book signing for the exhibition's photographic book.

Europe's borders

Date: Wednesday 11 November 2026
Time: 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Format: Talk
Speakers: Silvia Berzoni

Where does Europe begin and where does it end today? In thirty years, we have gone from the promise of a continent without borders to the need to rethink our own: our physical borders, in the face of migration and wars; our political borders, with the rise of populism; and our economic borders, while the United States and China race ahead in technology, artificial intelligence, energy and industry.

Why is Europe growing less? How can it regain competitiveness without abandoning its own model? And what is its place in the new global balance?

A journey through economics and geopolitics to answer a simple question: is Europe destined to defend what it has built, or can it still build its own future?

Global Insecurity: The Challenges of a Changing World

Date: Wednesday, 18 November 2026
Time: 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Format: Talk
Speakers: Andrea Margelletti and Ettore Sequi

In the context of the exhibition Luca Campigotto. Wandering Europe, which uses photography to explore cities, landscapes and territories across the European continent, Andrea Margelletti, an expert in international security, President of Ce.S.I. and Adviser to the Minister of Defence, and Ettore Francesco Sequi, Ambassador and former Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will discuss the main geopolitical issues affecting Europe today, from international relations to new balances of power, from security challenges to the transformations sweeping across the continent.

The Broad View: “Europe and the Imagination”

Date: Wednesday 25 November 2026
Time: 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Format: Talk
Speakers: Tlon | Maura Gancitano and Andrea Colamedici

A community exists if it can tell a story about itself, and to reflect on the idea of Europe, Maura Gancitano and Andrea Colamedici start with the myth from which the continent takes its name – a Phoenician girl carried away by a god – because Europe was born from a story of movement and intermingling, not from the idea of a pure people. From there, they move to the present, where the EU is drafting rules on artificial intelligence, while the images, words and desires of Europeans are being produced by platforms from other continents. Luca Campigotto’s photographs show a Europe that has been remade many times and that, therefore, can still be rethought.

Event in collaboration with the Fondazione Circolo dei lettori.

Fear, Hope and Change: A Geopolitical Portrait of the World

Date: Wednesday 13 January 2027
Time: 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Format: Talk
Speakers: Andrea Margelletti

In the context of the exhibition Luca Campigotto. Wandering Europe, which uses photography to explore cities, landscapes and territories across the European continent, is the second event dedicated to the transformations and new dynamics that are redefining Europe’s role on the international stage.

Following the first event, Andrea Margelletti, President of Ce.S.I. – Centro Studi Internazionali and Adviser to the Minister of Defence, will once again take centre stage in a discussion focused on interpreting the international landscape and the key geopolitical issues of the present day.

Europe Beyond Borders

Date: Wednesday 27 January 2027
Time: 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Format: Talk
Speakers: Francesca Mannocchi

Europe is a geographical territory, but also an idea, a shifting frontier, a space traversed by people, conflicts, transformations and contradictions.

Starting from Luca Campigotto’s perspective, the discussion with Francesca Mannocchi invites us to reflect on contemporary Europe and its borders – those that are visible, but also the more invisible ones that define belonging and identity, as well as the possibilities for movement.

A discussion to try to understand what it means today to cross, inhabit and recount Europe.
