From 14 October 2026 to 31 May 2027, the Casa Museo dell’Antiquariato Ivan Bruschi in Arezzo presents the first stage of the exhibition project Figure del ‘900. Da Balla a Severini, de Chirico e Oppi. Opere dalle Collezioni Gallerie d’Italia – Intesa Sanpaolo The second stage of the exhibition will be held at the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Jesi from 3 December 2027 to 18 April 2028.
The exhibition, curated by Paolo Bolpagni, is organised and promoted by the Fondazione Ivan Bruschi, part of the cultural heritage of Intesa Sanpaolo, and by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Jesi, together with the Fondazione CR Firenze, as part of a long-standing collaboration which has resulted in several joint initiatives over the years.
The exhibition brings together some thirty works, all from the Gallerie d’Italia – Intesa Sanpaolo collections, creating an itinerary through the first half of twentieth-century Italian art, following the thread of different artists, languages and regional contexts.
From Boccioni’s pre-Futurism to Balla, Severini, de Chirico and Oppi, the exhibition conveys the variety and richness of Italian figurative art, extending to post-war developments as well. Alongside its best-known protagonists, it also highlights lesser-known artists and artistic movements that have too often been wrongly regarded as peripheral, offering an interpretation that aims to reconstruct fifty years of Italian art history in a coherent and comprehensive way.
The exhibition catalogue is published by Allemandi.
